The Cochrane MRT station is an underground MRT station located in the Cheras area of Kuala Lumpur adjacent to Jalan Cochrane, Jalan Peel and Jalan Shelley.

The Cochrane MRT station is one of the stations being built as part of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit (KVMRT) project on the MRT Kajang Line.

It was opened on 17 July 2017 under Phase Two operations of the MRT Kajang Line.



The Cochrane MRT Station is also well located near two large shopping complexes – MyTown Shopping Centre (housing Malaysia’s second IKEA store) and Sunway Velocity Mall.
The ground level above the station is an open plaza with the station’s two entrance buildings cum ventilation shafts as well as a skylight opening with a distinctive glass pyramid.

The Cochrane MRT station has four underground levels, with three accessible to the public, namely the Upper Concourse Level, Lower Concourse Level and the Platform Level.

One level housing the plant rooms is located between the Upper and Lower Concourse Levels, and is not accessible by the public.

The station is located near two large shopping complexes – MyTown Shopping Centre (housing Malaysia’s second IKEA store) and Sunway Velocity Mall, with the former being connected to the station via an underground pedestrian linkway and the latter via an elevated pedestrian bridge.
Entrances and Exit
The Cochrane MRT station has two entrances, Entrance A at Jalan Cochrane and Entrance B at Jalan Shelley. Both entrances have escalators and stairs while only Entrance A has lifts providing universal access. The entrances are located at the ground level plazas.
The entrance A is located on the south side of Jalan Cochrane. It accommodates access to the Feeder bus stop, taxi lay-by, kiss and ride lay-by.


The Entrance B is located west side of Jalan Shelley. It accommodates access to Jalan Peel, Sunway Velocity Mall (via elevated pedestrian bridge), Church of Sacred Heart, AEON Big Jalan Peel, and St John Ambulance of Malaysia Headquarters.

An elevated pedestrian linkway, from Entrance B of the station to the Sunway Velocity Mall, has also been opened since 2 January 2018.

The linkway connects the Upper Concourse Level of the station to B1 Level of the shopping centre, running beneath Jalan Cochrane.

An underground pedestrian linkway between the Cochrane MRT station and MyTown Shopping Centre has been opened to public since 28 December 2017.


The linkway connects the Upper Concourse Level of the station to B1 Level of the shopping centre, running beneath Jalan Cochrane.


Elevated pedestrian linkway to Sunway Velocity Mall
An elevated pedestrian linkway, from Entrance B of the Cochrane MRT station to the Sunway Velocity Mall, has also been opened since 2 January 2018.




Feeder bus services
With the Phase Two opening of the MRT Kajang Line on 17 July 2017, feeder buses also began operating linking the station with several housing and industrial areas in Bandar Tun Razak, Hospital Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (HUKM), Bandar Sri Permaisuri and Taman Midah.
The feeder buses operate from the station’s feeder bus stop at Jalan Cochrane.

MRT stations of MRT Kajang Line
The MRT Kajang Line is the first line of the Klang Valley Mass Rapid Transit Project (KVMRT) that began full operations in July 2017.

The MRT Kajang Line spans a total length of 51km and it runs underground for a distance of 9.5km beneath the centre of Kuala Lumpur while the rest of the alignment is elevated. The line has 30 stations of which 7 are underground station and 1 is provisional station (Bukit Kiara).
