Travellers looking for a better cost-saving option to park their vehicles at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) and klia2 may consider the long-term car park (LTCP) near the older airport.
A free shuttle service running every 15 minutes between the carpark and both airports would be available 24 hours, said Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) senior general manager (operations) Datuk Azmi Murad.
“Parking rates at the LTCP are RM2.50 per hour or RM32 for a full day while the rates at both KLIA and klia2 start at RM4 per hour and the daily maximum rate is RM46.
“We will also have more facilities at this car park soon, including (plans for) a surau, eateries and a workshop,” said Azmi after launching the shuttle bus service here yesterday.
Users may board the free shuttle service operated by Mesra Indah Jaya Sdn Bhd from the KLIA ground floor and the klia2 transportation hub on Level One.

Alternatively, users who need to move between the two airports may also travel by the Express Rail Link for a RM2 fee.
“This car park is well fenced, brightly lit at night and there will be a 24-hour security patrol so there shouldn’t be any problem in terms of security.
“Some 2,000 (KLIA and klia2) staff have also registered for the season pass which gives them a special rate of RM45 per month to use the facility,” said Azmi.

He also denied reports of recent complaints of water pools and sinking land in klia2, adding however that MAHB responded immediately to any safety concern relating to the airport.
“It is not sinking. All airports have settlement surface (issue). We are compliant with all international safety requirements.
“We are a responsible airport operator,” he stressed.
The brand new klia2 airport is serving an estimated average of 450 flights daily, with two more airlines expecting to join the AirAsia group and four others flying from there soon.
