A mitigation plan has been put in place to ensure the safety and wellbeing of passengers following hydrant fueling services disruption at klia2 on Tuesday.
Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) said the refueling of wide body aircraft is now performed using bowsers or at remote parking bays and that 16 buses are provided to facilitate AirAsia X’s passenger boarding process.
“These buses are able to carry 40 passengers each, and two buses run concurrently at 10-minute intervals to minimise possible flight delays.
“Customer service officers or Care ambassadors have also been mobilised to usher
passengers,” the airport operator said in a statement last night.
On Tuesday, Oct 11, MAHB had said the incident during scheduled paving at Gate P10 had affected the fuel pipeline at several aircraft parking bays at Pier P.
A rectification plan that involved three stages is also underway to ensure the integrity of the fuel pipeline and the fix is estimated to take 1½ months. While the bus service has been proceeding smoothly, MAHB said the situation has caused some delays in flight departure times.
The three stages in the rectification plan are prerequisite stage, pipe rectification stage and testing and commissioning stage
