The increase in cost in the klia2 project was due to changes in planning, said the Public Accounts Committee (PAC).
Its chairman, Datuk Nur Jazlan Mohamed said the PAC had found no leakages so far, after the committee’s meet with Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) at Parliament today.
“The low-cost airline industry is one that is rapidly growing, and the PAC was told today that the increase in cost in the project was due to the change in planning and its execution.
“There were modifications made to the terminal’s design, to meet with the expectations of high passenger volume,” Nur Jazlan said.
He also said that it was also to ensure that the terminal had world-class facilities.
The RM4 billion project was scheduled to open April 30, before it was put off to May 2.
