Malaysia’s Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) passport office is now running on updated working hours.
The passport office a the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) will be closed on Saturdays, Sundays, and public holidays.
According to the Immigration Department of Malaysia (JIM), the office will be open during the following timings:
- Monday to Friday: 8:00am to 5:00pm
- Saturday, Sunday, and public holidays: Closed
The KLIA passport office offers the following services:
- First time applications; and
- International Malaysian passport renewals.
According to JIM, this KLIA branch of the passport office aims to “ease people’s affairs”.
The KLIA Passport Office is a pilot project and it is a quick win for the Home Ministry to address congestion at Immigration Department’s passport offices.
If the pilot project is successful, they are looking at opening a similar office at Kota Kinabalu International Airport.

The KLIA Passport office is located at the Long Term Car Park which is about 1.5km away from the KLIA Main Terminal Building.
According to Malaysia Airport’s website, the parking rate is RM3.00 per hour for the first four hours.
