"The place of the leak has been identified and we are identifying the reason (for the leak)," Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai told reporters here.
He said he visited klia2 last night and Petronas was working around the clock to find out the cause of the leak.
Liow said he would make a more detailed announcement on the matter soon as investigation was still ongoing.
It was reported that the fuel leak took place between the airport's bays Q10 and Q12.
Airport operator Malaysian Airports Holdings Berhad (MAHB) said the leak was not caused by soil depression.
Repair works are now being carried out by Kuala Lumpur Aviation Fueling System Sdn Bhd.
