The Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA joint venture retail operation in Malaysia has launched its first Christmas sale since opening its factory outlet shopping mall earlier this year.
The joint venture between Japan’s Mitsui Fudosan (70%) and Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad (30%) says the event will run until 3 January 2016 and is offering ‘savings up to 90%’, as well as free gifts from participating outlets.
In essence, the joint venture retail offer includes upper-middle to high-end ‘off season brands and products’ at discounted prices, plus a Japanese Specialty Store (Japan Avenue) and food options, including Malay, oriental and western cuisine.

The joint venture retail mall initiative is located 60km from Kuala Lumpur, but only six kilometres from Kuala Lumpur International Airport and klia2, where regular free shuttle buses transfer passengers to and from the Outlet Park.
The mall also incorporates a Flight Check-In Centre dedicated service for travellers, incorporating check-in facilities, flight displays and a free baggage storage facility. Additionally, the mall provides regular shuttle bus services to and from KLIA & klia2.
The outlet mall store has created a special atmosphere with a large illuminated tree and a special Musical Light Show.
“As the festive sale is held in tandem with the Malaysia Year End Sales 2015, the Mitsui Outlet Park KLIA Sepang is offering even greater discounts,” said Takehito Fukui, Managing Director of MFMA Development.
Management adds that to celebrate its first Christmas since opening, the store has created a special atmosphere with a large illuminated tree and a special Musical Light Show, which operates in time with the background Christmas music.

In addition, the JV management says it has organised a series of events: “Additionally, a number of exciting funfair games await children and the young at heart where they can vie and stand a chance to win soft cuddly toys and other prizes.
“Patrons can capture special, memorable moments at Sunshine Square and at the numerous Christmas-themed photo booths located at Tropical Plaza. Shoppers will also be treated to Christmas carols by a live band on 13th December 2015 at 2.00pm and 5.30pm.”
