Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) projects an increase of 15 per cent in its staff here from the present 2,000 when the klia2 begins operations in 2014.
"When the klia2 opens, the new staff will mainly be non-executive, in the security, operations, engineering, and fire and rescue services divisions," Human Resource Senior General Manager Suradini Abdul Ghani told reporters after the presentation of long-service awards here today.
In its corporate blueprint ‘Runway to Success’, MAHB targets 2014 earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortisation of RM1 billion, she said, adding the company has taken into account the effect of the additional staff on revenue.
The award recipients — staff with five, 10 and 20 years’ service — included 212 airport staff in Peninsular Malaysia, seven in Sabah and 14 in Sarawak. — Bernama
