The budget carrier, MYAirline, flew half a million passengers just two months ago.
Two months ago, after just four months of operations, Malaysian startup MYAirline reached a significant milestone after flying half a million passengers.

And today, the airline achieved yet another milestone as it celebrates flying over one million passengers – a powerful testament to the hard work of the airline’s employees and its growing popularity.
One million passengers in six months
MYAirline is dedicating this special day to its passengers and the wider MYAirline community to commemorate this significant milestone achieved in just over six months of operations.
The airline is clearly delighted to celebrate this achievement, ensuring an unforgettable experience for all those who have contributed to this remarkable journey.
Today’s occasion was marked as passengers from Kuching International Airport arrived at Kuala Lumpur International Airport Terminal 2 at 15:00, where they were greeted with a gift at the baggage area. All passengers from MYAirline flight Z9 8104 received surprise boxes that contained an array of freebies.
These included an exclusive MYAirline merchandise collection and cash vouchers sponsored by Plaza Premium Lounge. Ten lucky passengers received return flight tickets to top destinations within Malaysia operated by MYAirline. Celebrating this remarkable milestone was Rayner Teo, the airline’s Chief Executive Officer, as he highlighted:
“We are thrilled to celebrate this incredible accomplishment of surpassing one million passengers after six months since our first flight launch. This success would not have been possible without the continuous support and trust of our valued passengers.
Gratitude to the team
The low-cost carrier first began flight services last December, and today’s achieved milestone further highlights that MYAirline has been receiving a consistently high load factor in the past six months of operations – an average of 91%. And while passengers evidently play a significant role through loyalty, the airline also recognizes the hard work put in by every employee.

Maximum efforts have helped bring MYAirline to where it is today. As the airline reflected on the rapid growth of its fleet – from just three aircraft and now eight, the continued growth of its route network from three to now over nine, and the many milestones achieved, MYAirline believes it all exemplifies every employee’s dedication to ensuring the airline is Malaysia’s most reliable carrier.
Additionally, the low-cost carrier appreciates how every employee guarantees every passenger the best experience on the ground and in the air. Teo expressed his utmost gratitude to having the most wonderful employees, or ‘MYAirline family’ as he calls it, by saying:
“We remain committed to providing exceptional services and memorable experiences as we continue to grow and serve the MYAirline community. This celebration is a testament to the hard work and dedication of the entire MYAirline family, who have consistently ensured excellent on-time performance and delivered top-notch services.”
Spreading those wings internationally
But the budget carrier is not done reaching new milestones yet, as beginning tomorrow on, June 28th, MYArline will be spreading its wings beyond Malaysia as it launches the first international route from Kuala Lumpur to Bangkok’s Suvarnabhumi Airport.

The airline will also launch flight services to Bangkok’s Don Mueang International Airport on July 1st.
This will make MYAirline the first Malaysian carrier to operate in two different airports in Bangkok.
According to Teo, the airline will begin with one flight per day before advancing progressively to four flights per day.
The airline head also highlighted a possible expansion of its presence in Thailand, with flights planned for Phuket, Krabi, and Chiang Mai later this year.
And beyond Thailand, MYAirline also plans to begin flight services to Indonesia – primarily Bali and Jakarta, and to Vietnam and Singapore.
With a route network expansion in progress, the startup airline is also looking to set up a second hub either in Kota Kinabalu or Kuching, all before the year-end.
It’ll certainly be interesting to see how much bigger MYAirline would have grown this December during its first operational anniversary.
