Happy news for frequent flyers: the Platinum Lounge is now back in business, as Malaysia Airlines continues to ramp up the frequency of international travel.
After a two-year-long hiatus, Malaysia Airlines is committed to providing luxury hospitality services with a rejuvenated focus on premium service offerings. In a warm welcome, the flagship lounge at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) is now reopening its doors to greet its top-tier Oneworld frequent flyers. With this reopening, the airline marks the full restoration of its lounges at the international airport.
Located right next to the flag carrier’s Golden Lounge in KLIA’s Satellite Terminal, the premier lounge is the de facto first-class lounge, available 24 hours a day, seven days a week for travellers to refresh before their flight. Complete with private shower suites, nap rooms, and tranquil seating areas, the lounge offers guests spacious facilities — so they can take a breather and recuperate before hopping on their next adventure.
Exclusive fine dining experiences are also available here. The dedicated dining room serves up à la carte options, ranging from international staples to local delicacies such as nasi lemak and Malaysian ox tail soup. For those with a hankering for a good old cup of freshly-pulled teh tarik, they may enjoy the decadent beverage and retire to a quiet corner of the lounge for a quick recharge.

“We are thrilled to reopen our Platinum Lounge, especially as we continue to ramp up our international frequency and network to meet the growing demands for travel,” says Lau Yin May, Malaysia Airlines’ Group Chief Marketing and Customer Experience Officer.
“We hope guests, far and wide, will continue to enjoy the Malaysian Hospitality service that comes with flying with Malaysia Airlines; from the moment they seamlessly book their flights with us, upon their arrival at the airport, impeccable experiences at our lounges, and a comfortable journey on board.”
Who can access the Platinum Lounge at KLIA?
Access to the Platinum Lounge at KLIA is only available for a select group. Passengers and frequent flyers members that are flying via Business Suite, Enrich Platinum, Enrich CIMB World Elite, First Class on codeshare flights that are operated by Malaysia Airlines, oneworld First Class, and oneworld Emerald can utilise the end-to-end top-tier services offered by the flag carrier.
