A number of flights bound for Johor and Singapore were cancelled today due to the haze, as the air quality in many areas remains at unhealthy levels.
According to Bernama, flights from the Sultan Azlan Shah Airport in Ipoh, Perak, to these two destinations were cancelled.
At the Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport in Subang, meanwhile, three Firefly flights to the Seletar Airport in Singapore were cancelled as well.
FMT understands that Firefly will update the affected passengers accordingly and arrange for flights to Changi Airport in Singapore if necessary.
The haze blanketing the region has been largely attributed to raging forest fires in Indonesia.
In Malaysia, some 1.73 million students across the country will miss school for two days as 2,459 schools in six states and two federal territories close down amid air pollutant index readings exceeding the very unhealthy mark of 200.
