Malaysia Airports (Niaga) Sdn Bhd, a subsidiary of Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd and better known as Eraman Malaysia, inked a partnership deal with e-commerce player Ourshop allowing travelers to pick up pre-booked products from ourshop.com Eraman duty-free outlet at klia2.
The partnership provides Eraman an access to passenger trends and travellers’ departing and arrival destinations while enabling more precise marketing and selection of products.
Eraman general manager Zulhikam Ahmad said the duty-free brand is thrilled to be part of the collaboration with its parent company, Malaysia Airports and Ourshop to provide guests with an enhanced shopping experience.
“This initiative is very timely as we have just undergone a brand refresh exercise. We fully understand that e-commerce is fast becoming significant in the travel retail and duty-free market space.
“Hence, Eraman is embarking on this journey to ensure we too do not miss out on providing the convenience and keeping up with the trends,” said Zullhikam.
Malaysia Airports senior general manager (commercial services) Mohammad Nazli Abdul Aziz said the partnership would elevate the shopping experience for all travellers passing through its doors.
“This is just a taste of the many exciting activities and initiatives that we have lined up as part of Malaysia Airports’ Commercial Reset strategy.
“We want to bring excitement and joy to our guests when they are at the airport; and in doing so, we hope to change the traditional perceptions of the airport as a mere hub for connectivity, becoming also a place to enjoy the vast retail offerings available – both at our airports and now digitally,” he said.
Ourshop general manager Hassan Choudhury said the company is a partner of the entire air travel ecosystem including airports, retailers, as well as airlines, and that the online marketplace was looking forward to building more relationships as it transforms the airport retail experience.
“What used to be a 20-minute shopping experience as travellers rush to their boarding gates is now 365 days of shopping indulgence. I want to thank Eraman Malaysia for exploring this unique online shopping experience for travellers with us. We look forward to sharing incredible success together,” said Choudhury.
As for the travellers who purchase products on ourshop.com, they can also earn AirAsia BIG Points which can be used to redeem free flights on airasia.com.
The more miles travelled or items bought, the more points earned by travellers, creating a cycle of value.
