The majority of bus operators serving LCCT are ready to shift their operations to klia2 after AirAsia Group announced its decision to move there on May 9.
According to Aerobus, journeys from LCCT to Genting Highlands via KL Sentral will continue until then.
“This is due to the high demand from AirAsia passengers, who form the majority of our customers,” the company’s operator said yesterday.
The spokesman who declined to be identified said bus operations would be moved in phases throughout the eight-day period.
She said that while operations from LCCT would remain uninterrupted until May 9, passengers arriving at klia2 would be chartered to KLIA first before heading towards Genting Highlands via KL Sentral.
Aerobus, a subsidiary of Wawasan Sutera Travel and Tours Sdn Bhd, has been using its fleet of buses, shuttling exclusively from LCCT to Genting Highlands since 2010.
In its website, Aerobus announced on April 23 that its buses would make a stopover at KLIA to pick up passengers on its LCCT-Genting Highlands route.
“The schedule will remain the same – the pick-up at KLIA will be 30 minutes after LCCT. Any changes will be updated later,” the company said.
Another bus operator, Starshuttle, said its fleet would be available at both locations from Friday.
“We are making buses available at both locations, LCCT and klia2, during the transition period.”
Land Public Transport Commission (SPAD) chairman Tan Sri Syed Hamid Albar said the transition of bus operations from LCCT to klia2 was smooth, adding that there would be no new permits required for those moving there.
