He added that recent complaints of water ponding and alleged sinking land in klia2 were not true and added that MAHB would respond immediately to any safety concerns relating to the airport.
Azmi emphasised that it was not unusual for airports to experience land settlement, a technical term used to explain an unequal settlement of the ground caused by a movement in the soil.
“It is not sinking. All airports have settlement surface.
“You build a house, there is settlement. But you do not complain to a newspaper.
“We are compliant to all international safety requirements. We are a responsible airport operator,” Azmi stressed when met by journalists at the launch of a shuttle bus service at the airport here, Friday.
Following alleged reports of “sinking” taxiways and aircraft parking bays which surfaced earlier this week, MAHB responded by saying that there were no safety risk at the klia2 apron taxiway.
It added that the flight operations of airlines operating at klia2 were not affected by the matter.
