Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd (MAHB) has identified 10 areas at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2's (klia2) apron and taxiway that require maintenance.
MAHB managing director Datuk Badlisham Ghazali said immediate and long-term plans up to 2016 would be carried out to ensure that maintenance works do not disturb MAHB's operations.
"One of the 10 areas, the klia2's apron, has been rectified and we are working on the second one.
"We are working on one area after another because we don’t want to disturb airline operations. As a short-term solution, we are doing it on a daily basis,” he told reporters after attending the groundbreaking of AirAsia's new headquarters in Sepang today.
Badlisham gave his assurance that the klia2 remains safe for operation, adding MAHB had updated the Transport Ministry on developments. – Bernama, November 14, 2014.
