The National Higher Education Fund Corporation (PTPTN) has set up a counter at KL International Airport 2 (klia2) to facilitate blacklisted borrowers repay their loans before travelling abroad.
Chairman Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah said the officers manning the 24-hours counter would also provide counseling service to the borrowers involved.
“We want to resolve the issue of blacklisted borrowers being prevented from leaving the country. As such with the opening of this counter, the defaulters are able to negotiate to settle their arrears immediately before travelling abroad,” he said at Parliament building today.
Shamsul said the opening of the counter was among efforts taken by PTPTN to collect more outstanding debts.
Apart from being listed in the Central Credit Reference Information System (CCRIS), borrowers who have outstanding loans would also be blacklisted by the Immigration Department of Malaysia.
