AirAsia Digital has been rebranded as Move Digital, which is the holding company for AirAsia Move (formerly AirAsia Super App) and BigPay.
Move Digital aims to become the premier and cost-effective ride-hailing service at all airports.
Capital A CEO Tan Sri Dr Tony Fernandes, who is also the executive chairman for Move Digital, said the move was made to enhance users’ travel experience.
“We are renaming the application because it moves people whether by ride-hailing, plane or bus, on top of adding value with good hotels and food deals,” he said at the AirAsia Digital Next Move to Drive New Phase of Growth event today.
Fernandes added that Move Digital aims to become the premier and cost-effective ride-hailing service at all airports, forming strategic partnerships where coverage is lacking.
The vision, he said, is to be synonymous with travel solutions, offering comprehensive services to meet travellers’ needs.
“We are not only highlighting the typical aspects of travel like flights and hotels, but also ensuring excellent value and convenient mobility for travellers.
“Our aim is to encompass a wide range of transportation options including trains, buses, and more, hence the name ‘Move’,” he said.
On top of that, Fernandes said the company is gearing up to reintroduce its own ticket agency, expanding to include events as it sets out to embody comprehensive travel experience.
He added that they are aiming to integrate various travel aspects such as entertainment, food, transportation, hotels, and flights.
“We want to create a community where travellers can enhance their knowledge and decision-making, akin to TripAdvisor, consolidating all essential information in one place — streamlining your travel experience across destinations,” he added.
Fernandes also announced the appointment of Nadia Omer as AirAsia Move’s new CEO of AirAsia Move.
