A travel credit card may just set you up for a smooth, unforgettable trip. While you gather experiences, let your travel credit card collect the miles.
Often times, the journey towards achieving our goals or dreams is a bumpy one, filled with obstacles to test our endurance and patience – much like the journey to an exciting holiday that we have been looking forward to, only to stumble, sweat and swear throughout the trip because such is life.
What if parts of that trip can be made easier or experiences be more enhanced with just a wave of a travel credit card, or the existence of one for that matter?
Start your trip on a high note
Think: Unlimited lounge access to Plaza Premium Lounges at KLIA Terminal 1 and KLIA Terminal 2 when you travel internationally, for a spot of refreshment and relaxation prior to boarding.
Feel like a VIP and let go of all your worries as you get comfortable at the lounge seating area or dine over a good spread of food and beverage options.
Your hotel stay might turn into a sweeter one with privileges and perks that the card offers such as complimentary room upgrades, late check-outs and breakfasts – giving you more bang for your buck.
Shop and be rewarded
Adventure awaits if shopping is part of the itinerary, because you get to enjoy mouth-watering deals with the travel credit card at over 4,000 outlets in Malaysia and across Asia as you shop for souvenirs, a unique outfit for a party or a thoughtful gift to a loved one.
As with all travel credit cards, there are miles to be collected whether you’re travelling internationally or if you’re just enjoying the holiday hotspots here in Malaysia.
From dining to travel and overseas spend, these are ways to accelerate the accumulation of your miles points that you can convert to air miles for your next flight or redeem attractive gifts.
Be assured, stay insured
Set sail on an adventurous journey with peace of mind while being protected with complimentary travel insurance that covers you from the unexpected.
The travel insurance consists of up to US$100,000 (about RM458,900) in medical coverage as well as Covid-19 coverage.
When you have successfully made it to the arrival gate of a Malaysian airport, yet feeling flustered from all the heavy lugging, take advantage of the complimentary airport transfers via Grab that are extended to cardholders for a ride back home hassle-free when you book your hotel or airline ticket on the same card.
You will not be able to escape reminiscing about the memorable holiday that just ended, so why not use that journey home to calculate how many miles points you have amassed before using them for your next trip.
Card for all journeys
Understanding the needs of travellers, and the challenges they go through during a trip, Standard Chartered has introduced its Journey Credit Card.
The idea is to provide travel enthusiasts with faster and smoother travels through the benefits and privileges that the card offers.
Standard Chartered Malaysia managing director and Consumer, Private and Business Banking head Sammeer expresses pride in this latest offering by the bank, in partnership with Mastercard.
“This refreshed proposition would significantly elevate travellers’ experience, be it local or international.
“As our clients remain at the heart of everything we do, we paid close attention to travellers’ journeys and current trends to ensure that the revised benefits provide cardmembers with an enriched travel experience.”
Sammeer adds that Standard Chartered is looking forward to offering more rewarding banking solutions, such as in the case of the Journey Credit Card, to continuously meet the evolving needs of the bank’s clients.
Other features of the card include Apple Pay or Samsung Pay support so you can make payments seamlessly from your mobile phone, and a FlexiPay Plus feature that converts your Standard Chartered credit card purchases into a low interest rate instalment plan.
It is a carbon-neutral card as part of the bank’s sustainability practice, offsetting all emissions associated with the processes and production of physical cards.
As part of the launch of the card, applicants with a complete online application of the Journey Credit Card will receive 30,000 miles points when they activate and spend.
On top of that, the bank is collaborating with Enrich to give away Malaysia Airlines business class tickets to London, Tokyo, Bangkok and other destinations via a campaign that is running till Sept 10.
