Batik Air, formerly known as Malindo Air, is mounting extra flights for its domestic destinations departing from the Subang airport and KLIA to meet greater demand for services during the forthcoming general election.
In a statement today, the airline said it was adding 18 daily flights from Nov 5-23 to destinations such as Kuala Terengganu, Johor Bahru, Kota Bharu, Langkawi, Penang, Kuching, and Kota Kinabalu.
Batik Air CEO Mushafiz Mustafa Bakri said the additional flights were arranged following the announcement of the polling date to allow Malaysians to return to their hometowns to cast their votes.
“We are expecting a surge in flight demand. We hope our extra flights will provide greater convenience to Malaysians as well as to politicians during the campaigning period.
“We urge travellers to plan ahead for their travel and take advantage of the extra flights, which are already available now for booking,” he said.
