Prasarana Malaysia Berhad through its subsidiaries Rapid Rail and Rapid KL received a daily average of 700,000 passengers since Malaysia transitioned into endemicity on April 1.
Its president and chief executive officer, Mohd Azharuddin Mat Sah (pic) said they were targeting a daily average of 800,000 passengers and would improve on the quality of their services to meet the demand.
“The number of buses at bus routes corridors and train stations with a high load factor will be increased to reduce waiting time.
“At the same time, train overhaul works are accelerated including the implementation of a special review programme, and RAMS (Reliability, Availability, Maintainability and Safety) research and evaluation on train systems, rails and Prasarana’s assets for overall improvement,” he said.
Mohd Azharuddin was giving his opening remarks at the launching ceremony of the First Phase of the MRT Putrajaya line that stretched from Kwasa Damansara to Kampung Batu, spanning 17.5km.
Also present during the event was Prime Minister Datuk Seri Ismail Sabri Yaakob, Finance Minister Tengku Datuk Seri Zafrul Abdul Aziz, Transport Minister Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong, Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Economy) Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed and Federal Territories Minister Datuk Seri Dr Shahidan Kassim.
