It only takes one and a half hours to complete customs clearance at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA), said Datuk Seri Dr Wee Ka Siong.
The Transport Minister said the Cainiao Aeropolis Electronic World Trade Platform (eWTP) Hub at KLIA, together with Royal Malaysia Customs Department, have put in place a clearance system that will take only 90 minutes.
“It is a vast improvement from the 24 to 48 hours previously.

“Congratulations to the entire team for successfully establishing a regional e-commerce fulfilment hub in line with the government’s aim to position KLIA as an e-commerce regional distribution centre.
“These are among the action plans outlined under the National Transport Policy 2030 to shape KLIA into a leading regional cargo hub and maintain its competitiveness in air cargo operations,” he wrote on Facebook after launching the Cainiao Aeropolis eWTP Hub at KLIA yesterday.
Also present were Chinese Ambassador to Malaysia Ouyang Yujing, Transport Ministry secretary-general Datuk Isham Ishak, Malaysia Airports Holdings Bhd managing director Datuk Iskandar Mizal Mahmood and Alibaba KLIA Aeropolis chief executive officer Tim Fan.
