The Malaysia-Singapore Vaccinated Travel Lane (VTL) by land and air will continue despite two cases of the Omicron variant being detected in Singapore.
Health Minister Khairy Jamaluddin said he had spoken to his Singapore counterpart Ong Ye Kung on Friday morning (Dec 3) and reaffirmed that the VTL would continue.
“We will continue to update each other on a daily basis and coordinate our responses accordingly,” he told a press conference later on Friday.
On Thursday (Dec 2), the Singapore Health Ministry reported that preliminary test results on two imported Covid-19 cases had detected the Omicron variant.
Both cases were isolated upon arrival in Singapore on Wednesday (Dec 1), and had not interacted with the community.
