Express Rail Link (ERL), the operator of KLIA Express and KLIA Transit services, announced today that the schedule of its train services is going to be adjusted from Friday (March 20), given the enforcement of the government’s Movement Control Order to mitigate the spread of the coronavirus.
As such, from March 20 to March 31, both train services of the airport transfer provider will run as a combined service at 30-minute intervals, from 4.30am to 1am, every day.
The journey time between KL Sentral and KLIA will be 35 minutes, and 39 minutes for klia2, ERL said in a statement today. All departures at KL Sentral Station will be from the KLIA Express Departure platform.
“During this period of heightened precautions, we are tripling the frequency of cleaning of high contact areas at stations. We disinfect all high contact areas on the train and perform steam cleaning of train seats during nightly deep cleaning.
“Besides that, stronger disinfectants are being used by our cleaners. Hand sanitiser is provided at our Ticket Counters. We have advised our staff to practice common-sense measures to limit unnecessary exposure. We are doing everything possible to assure the public that taking public transportation is safe. We regret any impact these changes may have on your travel plans,” ERL said.
It further assured that its precautionary measures are guided by the Health Ministry.
