Malaysia Airports-owned travel retailer Eraman has opened new boutiques in partnership with leading brands Dior, Lancôme and Swarovski at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA).
The retailer has also opened its fifth store in partnership with Estée Lauder at Kota Kinabalu International Airport, having opened stores there for Jo Malone, La Mer, MAC and Tom Ford in August 2018.
The openings are the latest additions to the retail portfolio under the airport company’s Commercial Reset strategy.
The KLIA stores, which opened in departures Level 5 on 19 December, cover 2,438sq ft (Dior 947sq ft, Lancôme 818sq ft and Swarovski 673sq ft). Estée Lauder at Kota Kinabalu Airport opened in 205sq ft of space on 23 December.
Eraman General Manager Zulhikam Ahmad said: “We are excited to unveil our first Dior and Lancôme free-standing stores and second for Swarovski at KLIA. This is a significant initiative to position us as the preferred airport duty free and travel retail partner in Asia Pacific, and specifically in Malaysia. The overall project has started to make an impact on the retail landscape at KLIA.”
He added: “We are delighted to be working with renowned brands such as Dior (through LVMH Malaysia), Lancôme (L’Oréal Paris Malaysia) and Swarovski, in bringing the latest concept stores to travellers. The store concept is designed to enhance consumers’ experience, inviting them to experiment with the brand and allowing them to explore the various products offered in one space.”
Of the Lauder store, Zulhikam said: “The brand is highly popular with Chinese tourists who are Eraman’s second largest nationality to shop our stores.”
Beauty is among the drivers of the Eraman business today; P&C sales grew by +18% year-on-year in Q3 2019, said Eraman.
