Malaysia Airports has rolled out a “Shop RM50, Get RM50” promotion as it continues to elevate the retail and lifestyle experience at its airports.
Speaking to FMT, the airport operator’s senior general manager for commercial services, Nazli Aziz said the latest promo was part of its ongoing “Shop Like A Hero” or #ShopLAH campaign.

“This is all part of our commercial reset strategy. We want to reinvent our international airports into shopping destinations in their own right.”
The commercial reset strategy essentially involves the injection of new brands, high-end fashion retailers and a refreshed shopping experience at the airports.
Elaborating on the “Shop RM50, Get RM50” promotion, Nazli said it was aimed at maximising the retail potential of the end-of-year peak travel period.
“This is when we have loads of travellers and many of them will be looking for gifts for their friends and families here or overseas.”
All travellers have to do between now and Dec 31, is spend a minimum of RM50 at any participating outlets in KLIA or klia2 and they will get a RM50 e-voucher.
The e-voucher can be used for the minimum purchase of RM500 in liquor, tobacco, chocolates, confectionery, perfumes, and cosmetics at participating duty-free outlets.
“The e-vouchers can be redeemed through the MyAirports App which can be downloaded for free from the Apple App and Google Play stores.”
Nazli said Malaysia Airports was confident of ending the year strongly on the retail front, given the encouraging results from its commercial reset so far.
In 2018, retail outlets at airports recorded RM2.7 billion in sales, about 60% of which came from duty-free sales.
“We believe the ‘Shop RM50, Get RM50’ promotion won’t be just a boost for shoppers, but for retail sales as well.”
