AirAsia’s e-marketplace Ourshop has announced a new partnership with Malaysian health and beauty retailer Guardian.
In inking the deal, Guardian becomes the first health and beauty retailer to join the e-commerce marketplace, which counts the likes of Regent Asia, Eraman, Plaza Bali Duty & Tax Free, Lagardère Travel Retail in Australia and Lotte Duty Free in Indonesia among its customers.

Guardian shoppers can now enjoy pre-purchase and collect services at Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2).
‘EARN AND BURN’ POINTS
Aside benefitting from special product offers and bonus incentives to bring them closer to redeeming complimentary flights with AirAsia, AirAsia Big loyalty members can also earn and burn Big points when shopping for Guardian products via Ourshop.
Ourshop says the partnerships offers ‘significant growth opportunities for Guardian’s business’ through the close to 32 million people arriving and departing klia2 annually.
Discussions are also in place to extend the remit of the service beyond the airport.
Hassan Choudhury, Head of Acquisition, Ourshop said: “Ourshop is pleased to partner with Guardian, as well as launch a new retail category that gives customers the opportunity to pre-purchase and collect at klia2.
“Having the freedom to explore our omni-channel experience and product selection presents a great opportunity for customers. It therefore makes perfect sense to partner an industry giant such as Guardian.”
Soren Lauridsen, CEO, Guardian Health and Beauty South East Asia added: “We have noticed a new and growing trend, whereby travellers are moving away from impulse purchasing at the airport to researching and shopping online for essential travel items.
“With Guardian’s extensive brand offerings, we are well positioned to enable those travellers to prepare well before their next trip, offering travel essential products from head-to-toe such as sun blocks, repellants, vitamins, lip balms, pharmaceuticals, personal care, cosmetics and many more. We look forward to serving even more customers at our store at klia2 and the shared success of this partnership.”
Established 50 years ago, Guardian Malaysia began as a 200sq ft pharmaceutical retail outlet catering to the expatriate community and has since grown into a leading pharmacy, health and beauty retail chain with more than 430 stores nationwide serving over 30 million customers.
