The recent implementation of passenger pick-ups by e-hailing drivers and taxi-on-booking at the transportation hub of KL International Airport 2 (klia2), is to ensure that drivers are able to pick up passengers in a safe and convenient environment.

Segi Astana Sdn Bhd, operator of the gateway@klia2 integrated complex, clarified that the RM5 charge will be imposed on the taxi-on-booking, as well as e-hailing drivers, on a per-entry basis only.
“There is no extra charge at the klia2 transportation hub after the first 5 minutes nor after any particular time period,” it said in a statement.
Segi Astana said that this, as well as the additional waiting area for e-hailing drivers opposite the Long-Term Car Park (LTCP), were additional efforts in reducing congestion at klia2.
The transportation hub of klia2 is as a one-stop centre for transportation services such as buses, taxis and car rentals.
E-hailing drivers have been up in arms over new rules governing vehicle pick-up as they were told they would only be allowed five minutes at the pick-up lanes or be made to pay a RM10 charge and an additional RM10 for a further five minutes on top of an entry fee of RM5, effective Nov 1.
