Malaysia Airports Senior General Manager – Commercial Services Puan Faizah Khairuddin has been named The Moodie Report Personality of the Month for November, in association with The Dalmore Single Malt Scotch Whisky.

Ms Khairuddin has been a key influence in Malaysia Airports’ drive to raise the level of commercial activities at its airports, notably Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA). In November, the company unveiled its ambitious plans for klia2, the new permanent Low-Cost Carrier Terminal at KLIA, which is set to open in October 2012.
The Moodie Report Personality of the Month is a regular online feature, supported by leading Highland malt The Dalmore. It aims to recognise those individuals who by their deeds, attitudes and behaviour advance the industry’s cause.
Malaysia Airports has projected RM1.2 billion (US$380 million) in retail sales from klia2 in its first year of operations, and has attracted big interest from potential concessionaires both in Malaysia and from overseas.
Revealing the goals for the project last month, Ms Khairuddin said: “klia2 is not just an airport. It is an airport in a mall designed to maximise commercial offerings. klia2 boasts one of the highest percentage of retail space offered by any airport and will be the ultimate travel retail platform to showcase brands, products and services.”

She added: “We will work together with retailers to stimulate customers’ senses and empower them to do things their way. Opportunities will be there to maximize technology, marketing platforms, trends and services.”
Ms Khairuddin has been central to Malaysia Airports’ drive to position its airports as ‘lifestyle destinations’, with commercial activities at their heart.
