“Hello and good afternoon! So on this post I would like to share a bit about klia2 (yes it’s klia2 not klia2) which about to open in 9th May 2014. Yesterday was the Open Day and everyone was invited to have a tour at klia2 and have a look around it, from the terminal to departure hall to arrival hall to gateaway and EVERYWHERE in klia2.

I was told the biggest airplane (airbus) can pass under the bridge. Isn’t that cool? It’s like the Tower Bridge in London.”

“The new Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2) is built with bigger capacity and superior facilities to replace the LCCT. It was scheduled to open in May 2014 and glad that we had the chance to catch a glimpse of it so soon on 14 May 2014 when we want to travel to Hatyai.
There is over 90 outlets of F&B outlets to fix your crave. Be sure to reach there early because you really need a longer walking time to your boarding gates. You will definitely need more than 10 minutes.”

Connecting Flight at klia2

“A week before our flight, there was an article complaint from a passenger flying from Singapore to Brunei who also has the same connecting flight like us (AirAsia via KL). With 1.5 hours layover (in theory), any delay from Changi side will surely reduce the 1.5 hrs buffer time. Hence we are already anticipating some risk of missing our connecting flight, especially AirAsia support staff advices us that we must get out of immigration (which is not really true) before connecting to Brunei flight. “

Great experience in klia2

“Is it a shopping center, or an airport? Well, klia2 is both. It was an exciting moment when we firstly stepped into the new KLIA 2. First minute impression- it was huge! In the next 5 minutes, we discovered that it was clean, organized, and friendly to visitors.

klia2 no doubt is a great leap from old and small KLLCCT, which you might not even want to stay there for extra 30 minutes. The new airport houses a two-and-a-half-storey shopping mall, which will keep visitors busy for a few hours.”

“If you did not already know, the klia2 airport has recently opened and all budget flights are going via the new budget terminal for Kuala Lumpur. As this airport has been the talk of the year, and after many delays in opening, it finally opened its doors to the public on 2nd May 2014 and is servicing all the budget airlines in the region, namely AirAsia.

As for me, I departed on a trip via LCCT and arrived back in klia2 so this was an opportunity that many may have not experienced.”

“Went to klia2 to fetch my partner on first day of Airasia totally moved to the new Kuala Lumpur Internaltional airport 2. I was impressed about the building as the place looks many times better and comfortable compare to LCCT (Low Cost Carrier Terminal).

Heading to the covered car parking lots, you can use Touch & go card with it. As for the rate, check at klia2 Info. I also noticed an wide area of open air car park while on return, but can’t find information about it.”

Besides Airasia which set to start from 9th May 2014, 5 airlines have started their low cost flight operations in the new airport. Measuring 257,000 m2 in terminal size, the new international Low Cost Carrier hub, klia2, is capable of handling approximately 45 Million passengers annually, which is 3 times of what the phasing out LCCT with 64,067 m2 in size can handle currently.”
