FINDINGS on the audited cost overrun of klia2 will be announced in Parliament once completed.
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said the safety audit on the airport had been completed and the Auditor-General was still carrying out its cost overrun audit.
“I will make known the findings to the Dewan and the public once the Auditor-General completes his findings,” he said during his ministerial reply on the motion of thanks on the royal address in the Dewan Rakyat yesterday.
He said this when replying to a question raised by Hanipa Maidin (Amanah-Sepang) on the RM76.5mil spent on repairs of defects, including ground subsidence, at klia2.
On a separate issue, Liow said that as of February, only 25 business operators out of 159 had closed down their shops at the airport.
“The 25 operators themselves had requested to cease operations,” he said, adding that klia2 had an occupancy rate of 71%.
Datuk Seri Tiong King Sing (BN-Bintulu) highlighted the plight of business operators at klia2 who were facing difficulties in maintaining their business.
