The Kuala Lumpur Aviation Fuelling System (KAFS) is carrying out inspection works to determine the cause and to remedy a fuel leak at the Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (klia2).
Transport Minister Datuk Seri Liow Tiong Lai said that the Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) has been monitoring the situation closely to ensure that repair works are conducted in strict accordance with safety procedures.
“The safety of travellers and those working at and visiting klia2 is a priority for the Ministry of Transport,” said Liow after inspecting the site of the leak at the Apron, klia2 on Thursday.
Liow said he has instructed Malaysia Airports Holding Berhad (MAHB) to rectify the matter and cooperate with the DCA.
He also asked the DCA along with relevant agencies to submit full reports to the Ministry on the matter.
