On 9 May 2014, AirAsia X moved its operations from the LCCT to the new Kuala Lumpur International Airport 2 (KLIA2).

The AirAsis X airline, with carrier code D7, performs regular service routes to oversea countries like Australia (Gold Coast, Perth, Sydney, Tullamarine), China (Beijing, Chengdu, Chongqing, Harbin, Hangzhou, Pudong, Urumqi, Xi'an Xianyang, Xining), India (New Delphi), Iran (Tehran), Japan (Haneda, Kansai, Shin-Chitose Apt), South Korea (Gimhae, Seoul), Mauritius, Nepal (Kathmandu), New Zealand (Auckland), Saudi Arabia (King Abd Aziz), and Taiwan (Taipei).

AirAsia X (D7) Flight Schedule at KLIA2

Beginning July 2, 2016, AirAsia has started using LCCT-KL (Low-Cost Carrier Terminal-KL) to refer to KLIA2 in its promotions.

In a newsletter sent via e-mail to its members, AirAsia described LCCT-KL as "Asia's Low-Cost Hub", "also known to some as KLIA2".

AirAsia X

AirAsia X Berhad operated as AirAsia X, is a long-haul, budget airline based in Malaysia; and a sister company of AirAsia. It commenced operations on 2 November 2007 with its first service flew from Kuala Lumpur International Airport, Malaysia, to Gold Coast Airport in Australia. AirAsia X flies to destinations within Asia and Australia.

AirAsia X is the medium and long-haul operation of the brand AirAsia, which is Asia's largest low-cost carrier. The franchise is able to keep costs down by using a common ticketing system, aircraft livery, employee uniforms, and management style.
